Ryan and I spent this last weekend in Vegas. It was our friend Ken's 50th birthday. We had his birthday dinner at Herbs and Rye, one of our favorite restaurants in Vegas
they had a cool "year of the dog" display at Cesar's Palace. Of course I had to take a pic of the Boxer dog
Holly wanted to stop at the famous Vegas sign on our way out
it was very sad and a bit eerie to see the exact place where the Vegas shooting took place
while we were at the Vegas sign, we met a man dressed like Elvis that told us about this old historic bar about an hour from Vegas. We took his advice and had a little visit on our way home
it was built in 1913 and has been featured on the Travel, Food and Discovery channel. The mountain right behind this saloon is the place where Carole Lombard's plane crashed and she along with 22 other people were killed. It was said that Clark Gable spent three days at this bar waiting to hear word of her fate. There were lots of original pieces in the bar including bullet holes from a shoot out that took place in 1915. It was a cool way to end our weekend
